LEVELS

Cadenza offers ballet technique at five levels. Our class levels are:

-BEGINNING BALLET I (Absolute Beginner-no prior experience needed)

-BEGINNING BALLET II (Six months to one year experience is ideal)

-INTERMEDIATE BALLET I (1-2 years prior experience is ideal)

-INTERMEDIATE BALLET II (Two plus years of experience is required)

-ADVANCED (Three plus years of experience is required)

and we offer Pointe at two levels: Beginning and Intermediate.

A NOTE ABOUT POINTE CLASSES

At Cadenza Ballet, we want to ensure our students dance safely, healthy, and with joy and freedom. Students should understand that Pointe class is NOT a substitution for technique class. Therefore, we require all students who take our pointe classes to concurrently take a minimum of two ballet technique classes per week, one of which must be with Cadenza. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Cadenza students interested in pointe should consult with Leigh. All pointe-readiness decisions are final, and are not open for negotiation. We will refer out to a dance physical-therapist to assist in making pointe readiness decisions, in the event teachers are uncertain of a student's capacity to begin pointe. This is not gatekeeping, this is ensuring a student will be able to enjoy learning pointe, and mitigate risk of injury.

Please continue reading below for descriptions of each level, along with their prerequisite skills.

Our updated level descriptions are coming soon. Please check back frequently. If you have any questions, please reach out to Leigh at leigh@cadenzaballet.org
