CLASSES

Cadenza Ballet offers classes in classical ballet, pointe, pre-pointe, and modern/contemporary in a supportive and positive environment Our class sizes are kept small to ensure individualized attention. Our emphasis is on teaching technique, not just giving a class. Class structure consists of barre, center, and across the floor combinations.

Our school is different than many open adult ballet classes. We have a 30-week program broken into three seasonal terms: Fall, Winter and Spring. Fall and Winter terms are each 12 weeks and our Spring term is 6 weeks. We highly recommend committing for a full season as you will see the most progress with consistent training. However, we know life happens! So, we also flexible class credits and individual class rates.

LEVELS

Our classes are offered at five levels:
-Ballet Foundations for Absolute Beginners

-Beginner

-Intermediate
-Intermediate/Advanced
-Advanced

Please see our Class Levels page for class descriptions and how to select your level.

CLASS ETIQUETTE

Cadenza Ballet is a collective of like-minded humans with a shared passion, that must be able to share space and move together. Our sacred dance space requires mutual respect, trust, and positivity from all who choose to enter this space. Therefore, we must request that each student observe the following class etiquette and abide by our policies (found in the next section below), to ensure we can achieve our goals and provide the welcoming and supportive environment we have created.

-Students should be courteous, respectful, considerate, and professional towards all teachers and students at both Cadenza Ballet, and other classes/teachers at Pomegranate Studios. Failure to do so will result in dismissal from our school. No exceptions.

-Students should arrive to the studio with a positive attitude and an open mind; prepared to learn and dance. Students whose negative attitude is creating disruption in class will receive a warning. After that warning, students will be asked to leave class without refund. Consistently engaging in disruptive behavior will result in dismissal from the school.

-Students who would like to discuss level placement, pointe readiness, ask technique questions, have general questions or wish to provide feedback are kindly requested to ask the teacher permission prior to the start of their class, to speak with the teacher after class/in-between classes if they wish to do so in-person. If the teacher is unavailable, the student should schedule a Zoom meeting or phone call with the teacher. While we are happy to make as much time as possible for our students before and after class, it is not an ideal time as the teacher needs space to prepare for their next classes.

-All students should use the restroom before or after class, or during the short break between barre and center. If one has to use the restroom during class, they should wait until in between combinations, and excuse themselves quietly. When re-entering class, students should enter in between combinations, and not rejoin while others are dancing.

-All cellphones must be off or on silent during class.

-Students may not wear their dance shoes outdoors. We respect the dance floor and the shoes that allow us to dance safely.

Cadenza Ballet operates on an open door policy. We are happy to hear suggestions and constructive criticism. Please email us your feedback at info@cadenzaballet.org .

Behaviors that impact the emotional wellbeing, safety, and expertise of our students and teachers, will be met with removal from class, without refund, and, possibly, dismissal from school. Examples of unacceptable behavior include: correcting/directing other students (unless solicited); correcting teachers/questioning their expertise, experience, and leadership (unless solicited); insulting, harassing or bullying students and/or teachers; and any other behavior deemed harmful or disruptive.

As a privately held school, CB reserves the right to refuse training to any student who does not wish to commit to the following class etiquette tenants, is disruptive, and/or does not uphold the core values of our school.

SCHOOL POLICIES

PAYMENT/TUITION

Payment is due before or immediately after class ends. Payment and tuition for classes can be made online at time of booking on Calendly, through Venmo, or in-person via cash, check, or credit card. All classes are subject to NM State Sales Taxes and GRT. Beginning Fall 2025, students will have the option to pay for a full seasonal term; partial seasonal term, or on an individual class basis. Refunds/Credits for tuition prices are listed below, in the Refunds/Credits section.

REFUNDS/CREDITS

Cadenza Ballet, in general, does not provide refunds unless we have to cancel class. In most circumstances, we are happy to offer credits for classes missed. Our class credit policy is as follows:

-For Individual Class Payments: We have a required 12-hour minimum cancellation policy to receive a credit. If cancelled within 12 hours prior to the start of the class you wish to attend, no credit will be provided. If it is outside of the 12 hours, a credit will be issued that is valid for 14 days of date of issuance. We do not provide any extensions on the 14-day credit, nor is the credit transferrable or shareable.

-For Seasonal Term Payment: The expectation is that if you purchase a full or partial season, you are making a commitment for the duration of the term. Students paying for full or partial seasonal terms may be issued a credit for classes missed. However, credits will only be provided in extraordinary, unforeseen circumstances.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Cadenza Ballet, Leigh Grant, and Pomegranate Studios are not responsible for any lost or missing items. Students should ensure before leaving the studio that they have all that they have brought with them, and check the dance studio, lobby, hallways and bathrooms before exiting. Neither Pomegranate Studios nor Cadenza Ballet have a lost-and-found box, so please make sure you check for your personal items!

ARRIVING & EXITING THE STUDIO

Students should not arrive at the studio more than 10 minutes before the start of class, and should wait in the lobby. The teacher(s) are busy setting up the studio and preparing for class. The teacher will let you know when they are ready.

Once class is finished, students must exit the studio space. Students may visit with one another in the lobby, but please be advised that the teacher must prepare for the next class. Students participating in the last class of day/night must exit the building 20 minutes after the end of the class. â€‹

DANCE STUDIO FLOOR

CB lays down its own professional Harlequin Dance floor for the safety of our students.  To maintain the integrity of the floor's surface, we ask students to refrain from wearing clothing that has been washed with fabric softener, as it damages the surface.
We ask that students refrain from wearing wet, soiled, outside shoes on the dance floor.
